Late Winter, 2026

Greetings, Winter-weary friends. Take heart.

Spring is nearly here.

Each day now, we're hearing a few more birds out the window. And while the snow still falls, and stubbornly sticks, the sun sits at a higher, more powerful angle. The warmth of those rays is an embrace from a long-lost friend. Renewal is fast upon us.

Winter here has been mundanely busy with improvements to the livestock operations. Frost-free water systems, and a safe cattle handling pen and chute, for example. Both have helped the cows and goats thrive this winter, despite the bitter cold and snowfall we've seen. We recently celebrated the addition of a little bull calf, and we're hoping for two more within the next month or so. Fingers crossed!

Now, its time to tune our eyes to green. Seed orders. Seed starting. Hoop house and garden bed repairs. Resets. Winding engines and priming microbiological dynamos. Waiting now, twitching at the starting line with restless anticipation of the flag.

Farmshare Update / Great News

Sand Lake Merchant has again agreed to host our farmshare pickups! The Merchant is right in the center of town, making it a convenient spot for us all to converge, and we are so appreciative of their support of our local business, along with so many others. While you're there, check out the new styles and gift options, and grab a hot beverage from Gipfel.
