Foremost we would like to say thank you for your support this year. As for everyone, it was a very bumpy start filled with 2020 uncertainty, but were able to expand considerably thanks to you! We aim to grow further next year with a mission to offer nourishing, wholesome, local food to our neighbors while helping those who are in need.
The COVID pandemic has brought record job loss and global supply disruption which has only exacerbated food disparities in existing food deserts. We are partnering with Albany Free Food Fridge this winter to raise funds that will support protein donations from Sollohub Family Farm and we need your help. Please share this blog post with anyone you think could contribute.
In our online shop, you will find the option to donate items that will go towards pasture raised pork or chicken that will be distributed to Albany Free Food Fridge in your name, or you can donate any dollar amount here. The option to donate funds will be available year round to support seasonally appropriate food donations.
Let's work together to share a little love, hope and long overdue change. Your donations will help us responsibly raise more livestock and plant more seeds that will yield wholesome goods that will be accessible to nourish all members of our community.
Stay tuned for our CSA share sign-up which will open up in December with exciting new opportunities to donate shares or portions of shares to organizations that support individuals and families in need.
In an effort to responsibly expand production capacity, we are now partnering with Morning Star Poultry Processing, a family owned USDA processor located in Fort Plain, NY. Their family also runs a fantastic bakery called Morning Star Pastries located at 19 River St Fort Plain, NY 13339 -please check them out if you are ever in the area. Thanks to this new collaboration, we are pleased to share that in addition to whole chickens, we are now offering boneless skinless chicken breast, drumsticks, thighs and wings for sale at our online shop.
We are patiently waiting for the day when we can again gather safely to share good food, drink and company. The wait will make those moments that may have been previously taken for granted all the more glorious to cherish.
Be safe and thank you for your support!
