Given the uncertainty around the COVID-19 pandemic, its about time we gave you all an update on how we are adapting here on the farm. Here are a few things we'll be doing differently this season:
CSA Pick-Up:
We love CSA pick-up time. Folks stopping in to grab a basket of food often turns into a gaggle of new friends and great neighbors catching up after a busy week - this is what community supported agriculture is all about! But with safety in mind, we need to be nimble. Pick-up at the farm will be by appointment and staggered to prevent risk. As we get closer to the season, we'll be reaching out to members to see what works best for everyone.
Delivery:
Within a 5 mile radius of 12018, all farm products (including your CSA shares) will be available for drop-off at your residence, free of charge.
Our first try at home delivery this 2020 season will be for custom pork orders of bacon, ham, pork chops and/or sausage. Ordering will open up the week of April 12th - more information to follow.
Live farther than 5 miles? Delivery will be available for a fee based on mileage.
Nine Pin Collaboration on Hold:
We were really excited about our plan to work with the great folks at Nine Pin Cidery to offer CSA shares in Albany. But because of the need to socially distance, we're pausing this idea and hope to revisit it once the public health crisis calms down. In the meantime, we hope our friends and members will consider checking out Nine Pin's home delivery options.
They really are great people running a business who's very mission is to support NY agriculture, and like so many other businesses right now, I'm sure they'll appreciate your support too. Besides, if you're stuck in the house, you might as well enjoy a tasty beverage!
10% off Full Shares:
Since we'll be keeping things local for now, we do still have shares available. So, for the month of April, we are offering full 16-week shares at a 10% discount for folks who pay for the season up-front.
Referral Special:
Current members: refer a friend who purchases a share, and you each get a $10 credit to use toward's any CSA extra's or at Eva's flower stand! Food to Share:
In this time of uncertainty we feel so lucky to be living a homestead life, but we know that things are getting pretty hard out there for lots of families. So, for every 3 full shares sold in 2020, the CSA will be donating 1 full share to a local family who can benefit from it. Please know that your support will help us feed others in our community.
