fresh herbs

2019 was an outstanding year full of growth and learning. Thanks to the incredible support of our members, we harvested and shared hundreds of pounds of fresh, nutrient-dense and sustainably grown food. We are so excited for 2020 and hope you are too! With better know-how, improved soil health, and some new tools, we are are certain that the upcoming season will be fun and fruitful. Thank you for your interest in joining the adventure!

How does it work?

Each week, members receive about one half bushel of food, including a family-sided protein (such as a whole chicken, 4-pack of pork chops, sausage, etc.) and 5-10 varieties fresh vegetables, greens or herbs. For an example of what you might expect on a given week, you can check out this weekly update from 2019, or other posts from last year.

When and where:

The CSA is set to begin the week of June 7th and will run for 16 weeks, through the week of September 20th. Weekly pick-up is at 135 Crystal Lake Road, Averill Park, NY 12018 and we will be offering two options for pick-up times this year, Sunday mornings 8am-10am or Thursday evenings 4pm-6pm.*

Can we get a half share?

We value all of our members and don't want an over-abundance of food preventing a smaller family from participating. As a compromise, we are offering an every-other-week option where you can receive 8 bi-weekly shares as described above.

Price, and how to reserve your share:

The weekly price of the CSA works out to $45, however to reserve your membership, you can either pay for the season upfront or pay a deposit of $160 for a full share or $80 for a half share. After a deposit, members pay $35 per week at pickup.

To purchase a full or half share up front, or to make a deposit, you can do so at our online store, or send/drop off payment in cash or check made out to Sollohub Family Farm. Shares are limited, so act early to reserve you membership!

For a limited time, we will offer a 10% discount to folks who purchase a full share up front, as your early commitment helps us prepare for the upcoming season.

Thanks again for your interest! If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to email, call or text Mark at (518)817-5135.

*Season dates and pick-up times are subject to adjustment as needed based upon weather, membership needs or unforeseen circumstances. Shares must be picked up at the predetermined time and place as we are unable to store goods at peak freshness. Members who have a conflict such as being out of town during pick-up times have found success designating a friend or family member who can share the bounty in their absence, or alternatively, any unclaimed shares will be donated to families in need through local not-for-profits. Please let us know as soon as possible about any such conflicts, and we'll do our best to help.
