The Final Countdown

Mid June!

A hectic Spring full of activity, chores, and projects has somehow dropped us in the middle of June. Preparing for a continued harvest has been a blast as well as a challenge and we're psyched to start sharing the results of our efforts.

Currently we have broiler chickens on pasture , laying hens cranking out eggs, pigs working the field/forest perimeter and a new momma goat (Ida) and her baby (Lola) providing fresh milk, cheese and much needed entertainment. Onions, leeks, potatoes, tomatoes, summer squash, peppers and eggplants are on their way. Sweet corn is 4" high this morning, and will be higher tomorrow. Lettuce, kale, chard, carrots, radishes and beets are also coming along.

Week 1 share is set for Niskayuna delivery next weekend (Sunday, 24 June), and it should be a good start! We promised 5-10 varieties each week of greens, herbs or vegetables with one family sized protein... will vary between a whole chicken or pork. We just picked up some beautifully processed pasure-raised bacon, pork chops or italian sausage from Stratton's. Early shares will be heavier on greens/herbs, with more variety as the season progresses.

It looks like there will be a nice variety for the first share .. closer to Sunday we'll send a list of the expected harvest so you can plan for groceries, meals, etc.

Pick up will be Sunday 8am - 10am ... please let us know if that doesn't work, and and we will adjust.

Again, THANK YOU for your support. Week 1 delivery is 1 week away. It's go-time!
